CCD imaging on a work
night!
Imaged from my driveway in suburban west Knoxville.
This image was an experiment to determine thermally induced
focus shift over a typical fall/winter night.
Telescope and computer unattended during 5 hour exposure
sequence ( I was asleep <G> )
Astro-Physics 1200 GTO mount with Takahashi FSQ
106. SBIG ST 10XME CCD with CFW-8a
3nm Custom Scientific Hydrogen Alpha filter.
Exposure 5 hours( 10 x 1800 seconds) Guiding
with onboard guider chip.
Acquisition and calibration and mild DDP in Maxim
DL/CCD, levels and curves adjustments in PS
To view this image properly as well as other images on your monitor please adjust the contrast and brightness until each gradation in the greyscale is just discernable. Also set your display adapter to at least 24bit color and 1024 x 768 resolution minimum.
